Spurs are lining up an €80m (£69m/$93.5m) bid for the winger according to reports by Brazilian outlet globo.com. However, City are not believed to be receptive to any move, even with an increased offer. The Cityzens have already rebuffed one approach from Spurs for the 21-year-old's services.

Despite that, Savinho's representatives are reportedly in London with the aim of facilitating negotiations between the two parties, as the player looks for more first team football ahead of this summer's World Cup.

Spurs are licking their wounds after Eberechi Eze decided to sign for their arch rivals Arsenall, in a deal worth a reported £67.5m ($91m). While Thomas Frank and Daniel Levy have been able to secure the signing of Mathys Tel and Mohamed Kudus this summer, they have also missed out on other notable attacking targets. Morgan Gibbs-White opted to stay at Nottingham Forest, despite Spurs meeting his release clause, while City's reticence to engage with their approach for Savinho makes a deal unlikely.

AFPWHAT NEXT FOR SAVINHO?

The young Brazilian has played under the City Football Group for the past three years, and is clearly rated very highly by his employers. While their resolve could well be tested by a substantial bid, the chances of Spurs securing their man looks slim at best. Tottenham and City square off this weekend. It would just be Spurs luck for Savinho to pop up with a crucial goal.
