Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp's move to become head of global football at Red Bull has been mocked as he gets his own 'satirical float' in Mainz.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Klopp left Liverpool after nine years of having renewed the Reds' dwindling fortunes over a decade ago. A few months after having left the position, Red Bull's sporting department announced that they had tied down the German to the position of head of global football for the company. His job portfolio will include looking into Red Bull's numerous clubs, including Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

    Klopp, a manager who has often been described as a man of the people, has been heavily criticized by fans in Germany over his deal with Red Bull due to their 'interference' with German football with RB Leipzig's infamous rise to the top tier of German football. The former Liverpool manager is now set to have his own float at the Rose Monday carnival parade in Mainz, a parade known for its political satire.
